You can see similar embroidery with similar design in center portion of the saree. What is special about this saree? KANTHA:Kantha is a hand embroidery style traditionally practiced by rural womenfolk in state of West Bengal. Kantha embroidery is recognized by running stitches. The usual Kantha stitch is done in straight or horizontal lines but artistic Kantha styles emerged over time where floral or religious symbols were also depicted in Kantha embroidery. Kantha is mostly practiced on pure silk, Crepe or Cotton Saris. A single Kantha sari can take as many as 4-5 days of work for 5-6 women of a house working together.
